Mariachi Entertainment System is donating album proceeds to the Mighty Javelina Marching Band Instrument Fund
For more than half a century, the Mighty Javelina Marching Band has been a source of pride for Crystal City—a community that has endured more than its share of hardship. For generations, students have taken the field and continued a remarkable tradition of musical excellence, earning superior ratings, advancing to the state level, and proving what young people from a small South Texas town can accomplish.
Today, that tradition faces new challenges. Years of strain have left the program with growing numbers but no instruments to serve the students playing them. But the talent, determination, and pride that built the Mighty Javelina legacy are still there.
Mariachi Entertainment System (MES), in partnership with Key Changes, is stepping in to help. MES will donate 95% of the proceeds from the sale of its remaining physical albums toward purchasing instruments for Crystal City students.
This isn't about saving the Mighty Javelinas. It's about putting instruments into the hands of young musicians so they can continue what generations before them started.
The Mighty have played on for more than 50 years. Let's make sure they keep playing.
